You asked so here goes….
Our bedroom is very much a reflection of everything I love: lots of natural light, light gray walls, crisp white bedding, and subtle details with an overall calm and clean look. I had help with the furnishings and fabric for the pillows from Urban Grace. I love working with them!
The only things not finished include my intaglio grouping (almost finished with this project) which will be hung over a pretty table on the side of the room I didn’t photograph and accessories for end tables which I like to collect over time. I may or may not add a bench to the end of the bed. I like the idea of finding a unique antique bench and adding a custom fabric to complete the room….one day.
The Master Bathroom:
Our bathroom space was designed so that we each have our own personal space. We each have our own vanity, built-in armoire for all of our things, and closets.

YAY!!! This makes me so happy!! 🙂
Okay, love those bedside tables! Where did you get them? And what can you tell me about your beautiful carpet? And what is your paint color?
Your ceiling is simply stunning! I bet you feel like you are waking up at a 5 star resort every morning! Love the neutral tones and calm effect. You did an outstanding job!
THANKS SO MUCH FOR POSTING!!!!!!
The bedside tables are Stephanie M (to the trade only) so they can be purchased via Urban Grace Interiors. You can contact Allison at allison@urbangrace.com to purchase. The paint color is the same for ceiling, trim, and wall (a trick I learned for getting the effect I was looking for)…Restoration Hardware Ash. The carpet is Ellsworth in color Seasoned by Dixie Home.
STUNNING! So beautiful! Thanks for sharing 🙂
I love that your windows are large and offer so much light. I wish mine were shutter free, but the heat and sunlight that comes through is unbearable without them. Your bedroom is beautiful. The detail you have put into your house build has given you a wonderful home – it really is lovely to get a peep through the keyhole. Love your bath panelling and ceilings. We also have his and hers……. I love it! Despite my pleas, my hubby is a mucky pup – so pleased we don’t have to share! ha Do you keep all your perfumes/cosmetics/toothbrushes out of sight?
Yes, I do in the medicine cabinets or drawers.
OMG Amanda you have out done yourself again. I can’t wait to get your opinion and ideas in my next house. I hope you are welling to help. We have the same taste. The only thing is I don’t know how to put it together, but with your help we will get it done. Where are some of the places you get your inspiration from? Will you please share? Love it!!!!
I get a lot of inspiration from perusing design blogs! Also, I had help with this room from Urban Grace Interiors…blog.urbangraceinteriors.com 🙂
Simply gorgeous! Love all the rounded ceilings and door way openings and even a whole hallway with rounded ceiling! How many square feet is your home, if you don’t mind my asking because it looks huge. Just curious. Everything is just so beautiful! How do you EVER keep all that white clean? Well kudo’s to you anyway!! My family would have to move out with all that white. I can already tell you there’s no way I nor anyone could keep them from messing up everything, so I’m jealous but in a good way!
Hi,
Thanks for visiting! Actually, white is by FAR the easiest color to keep clean from my experience :). I think it is a common misconception that white is hard to keep clean but white is the one color that you can clean with pretty much anything without worrying about the color bleeding, fading, etc. For example, the white chaise in my daughter’s room has had grape juice on it, was tee tee’d on during Olivia’s photoshoot, and more and it all came out. If you like white, don’t be afraid to use it in your home. In fact, the only white thing that I was afraid to have was my Calcutta White Marble in the kitchen because it gets so much use and is also where my 3 year old likes to eat and I found that it too is super easy to clean if stained by just dabbing a little baking soda and water and letting dry. You’d really be surprised as it is a very forgiving color. 🙂

Found your lovely blog via Urban Grace………………your bedroom turned out beautifully……………and your daughter’s room is stunning. Great job!!
Amanda–what a gorgeous, light, dreamy bedroom (and bath!).
xx a jealous-that-you-worked-with-erika-fellow houstonian 🙂
Your home is gorgeous! I love seeing pictures and getting ideas. Thanks for sharing.
Absolutely BREATH.TAKING. Love it!
I also am visiting via urban grace. Very soothing and relaxing. I have been working on my master bedroom as well and have a large window (not as large as yours) and was wandering if you actually pull those curtains closed at night for privacy and if not what do you do for privacy? I’ve been struggling with that issue myself.
Yes, we do close the curtains at night. They have rings at the top that slide on the rod really easily so you just pull them closed. I chose a linen fabric for a relaxed feel because I didn’t want the space to seem formal.
I love your bedroom…and your house!!! Could you tell me who makes the lanterns (over your island) in your kitchen? Beautiful!
Those are from Visual Comfort or can be purchased through Circa Lighting. I love all of their lighting!
Visiting from Urban Grace. Your room is simply lovely… so calm and serene. I particularly love the chandelier over the bed. Would you be willing to share where you got it?
Hi,
Yes, I purchased the chandelier through Currey & Company.
Your home is beautiful. The colors you used and the finishes are perfection. The light you have over your tub is in my dining room. I love the way the seeded glass beads catch the sunlight. I have had such good experiences with UG.

I’m visiting from Urban Grace. Your bedroom is just dreamy!!! I love all the white and the different textures in the room. I’d never want to leave this room if I were you.
Your house is beautiful! And your bedroom turned out so great! I’ve seen that paisley fabric on the pillows in the chair before and love it, but I don’t know what it is. Could you share? Congratulations!
Hi,
It’s Schumacher Arklow Paisley and can be purchased through Urban Grace 🙂 You can contact Allison at allison@urbangrace.com to purchase.
Oh my…I literally gasped when I saw these photos. Wherever did you get that amazing quatrefoil table? Source reveal please? 😉
Your master bedroom is simply stunning! I would love to have a space like this in my own home. So relaxing…
You are so nice to answer these questions about sources! Of all things, I’d love to know where the bed coverlet/quilt is from- and if it can hold up to washings well from two little kids who like to cuddle in bed?!
I never imagined I would have had so many comments and I’m happy to answer questions. I have two small children as well 🙂 and we all love to cuddle in bed. Being completely honest, the quilt has even survived red (juice) vomit and came out looking new after washing. It has to be washed gentle cycle though because of the stitching. It’s from Pottery Barn. I purchased one for the guest closet as well because it looks so warm and cozy.
Sold! You had me at “survived red juice vomit”! Is it the Pottery Barn pick-stitch quilt? I’ll give it a try and thanks for the gentle cycle tip- do you just line dry it? Thanks again!
I saw that your coverlet if from pottery barn. Where is the other cover/comforter that is laying across the bed and the pillow shams from too? Also, are both of your decorative paisley pillows and other pillow paired with it from etsy?
thanks!
Hi,
I had Urban Grace Interiors help me with the pillow fabrics and I purchased them through them. They are helping me now with fabrics for the living room and they are great to work with! The duvet you probably can get pretty easily but choose a fabric that will not wrinkle too easily. I like white because it’s simple and also easy to clean. I don’t like ironing though. 🙂
Your room is absolutely gorgeous! Thanks for sharing with us and for revealing your sources. 😉
xo~

Its absolutely breathtaking =) WOW. xoxo, Shelli (ps- are you in Houston? I was born and raised there!)
Just beautiful! I can’t wait to see the rest of the house! Thanks for sharing!
I would love to feature your home on my blog as my very first home tour, please email me at alamodemaven@gmail.com if you fancy a feature =) (I’m the girl who’s home Kelly’s Korner featured last week on her blog). You children are gorgeous too =) xoxo shelli
I’m also visiting from Urban Grace Interiors. Gorgeous gorgeous rooms! I hope you and your family continue to enjoy them! Question: who made your mirror above the bed? I love!
Hi,
This item would need to be purchased through Urban Grace as it is to the trade only. 🙂 You can contact Allison at allison@urbangrace.com.
Your bedroom is a breath of fresh air- LOVE it. DO you know what fabric your bolster is? Also, did you get your bedside lamps from Currey & Co also? Thank so much!
They are Visual Comfort and the fabric for the bolster is through Urban Grace. You can contact Allison at allison@urbangrace.com for the details 🙂
Fellow Houstonian here! Your bedroom is absolutely gorgeous!! Congratulations on creating such a beautiful space to relax in!
Would you mind sharing who makes the 2 identical glass lanterns, hung in the hallway leading to your bedroom? They are stunning!
Thank you in advance!
Thank you! There are three but One didn’t make it on there because the hall is pretty long. These came from Visual Comfort /Circa lighting.
hi there! i agree with all the above 😉 totally gorgeous!! love that you’re answering everyone’s questions! i really wanted to know that paint color!
I really had a tough time with paint color because of how much light comes in our home. After trying almost every color swatch in the gray family from Sherwin Williams and on top of that, every custom combo I could come up with using crazy percentages, I ended up finding the right shade of gray from Restoration Hardware called Ash. By painting everything one color, it becomes lighter.
I too am also visiting from Urban Grace Interiors. Your bedroom is beautiful and I think the carpentry especially around the tub and the ceiling is wonderful.
I would love to know the source for the quatrefoil table and the light you have over your tub.
Thanks
I found the chandelier over the tub through Circa Lighting and the quatrefoil table was through Urban Grace 🙂 You can contact Allison at allison@urbangrace.com to purchase.
When I designed the tub, my carpenter about had a heart attack when he saw my drawing and dimensions because there are so many bends and to make the circles bend like that was quite a challenge. He had to build the tub several times….poor guy! However, he is amazingly talented and he did all of our cabinetry and our master ceiling.
Beautiful! Please tell me those chairs are not antiques?!? I need them 🙂 Your home is beautiful! SO happy Erika shared your blog.
wow and wow! love your master suite! thanks for all the sources too. can’t get enough of that paint color.
Found you through Urban Grace. Beautiful!! Absolutely stunning! Thanks for sharing!!
I had to leave another comment because I came back to drool over your bedroom. I think adding a bench at the end of the bed would really tie it all together. I love your headboard…..and by the way, you got some good shots!
Lovely, just lovely! You have exquisite taste.
I was gobsmacked when I saw your carpet. I put carpeting identical to this (in both pattern and colour) in my very first house nearly two decades ago. I am delighted to see that it is still available today. I adored it then, and still miss it, and often think about replacing my current house’s carpeting with this. Perhaps you have given me the jolt I need to just do it!
Cheers….
I am visiting from Urban Grace too. Your master is gorgeous. I wanted to comment on the beautiful carpet. What is it??
Hi,
Further down in the comments, I posted details of the carpet 🙂
I’m just absolutely crazy about this room. WOW! Like crazy, crazy.
You’ve answered so many questions, but oddly enough I just want to know where you got your drapery hardware. Is it gold or brass? Simple, elegant, love it.
I’ve already blogged about it too! BEAUTIFUL job.
Hi,
It is called antique gold and made by a local company in the Houston area. I really don’t know the name because the lady that made the drapery was able to source it for me and I never asked who the manufacturer was 😦 I’m sorry! I wish I could tell you.
Amanda, your bedroom is breathtaking. It’s very much like mine as far as palette and texture, only more sophisticated. I love it! (And i love that you like to collect the table accessories over time.) I’ve never been to your blog before, but will enjoy catching up. I’m a Houston girl, too! Born and raised here. I can tell by the view outside your windows we aren’t quite neighbors, but I bet we’re close! Wink!
Happy Mother’s Day to you!
Linsey
Amanda love your bedroom! Question though which I can never seem to figure out. You seem to have the same kind of bed I do, i.e. tall mattress. I can NEVER find bedding that fits so that I can tuck it in. I finally got a king duvet cover (for my queen bed) that actually covers the mattress on the sides but no way could I tuck it in as you have. Can you tell me what type of bedding you used on the bed to tuck in? I have the same (or very similar) dust ruffle and just want neat and clean tuck if I can figure out how to do it. All my flat sheets are too short on the sides too, mattress shows….
Hi,
The quilt is turned sideways to tuck and the sheets are special deep pocket sheets.
Your room is so beautiful and I wanted to tell you that I am so glad you posted your paint color. I ran to Restoration Hardware yesterday and picked up a sample of it. Put it on last night and loved it. Painter came this morning and put the first coat on and it’s gorgeous. I’m using it in our loft/playroom and can’t wait to see it all done. It is such a peaceful color. Highly recommend it! Thank you again.
Awesome! If I told you my painting saga, you would laugh because it took about 50 custom paint samples until I finally came up with this color during a trip to the store. It solved all the dilemmas.
I apparently am having the same painting saga. I am trying to decide on the main paint color for our new home.. going with white but it is def not as easy as it sounds! I have white marble counter tops in my kitchen and want my walls and trim to all be the same with out going too stark.. what is the color in your kitchen and loggia area?? are the trim, walls, and cabinets all same color?? HELP!:)
Hi Ashley,
I replied to your other comment as well. We used Ash from Restoration Hardware which is a creamy gray that when painted on ceilings, walls, and trim goes warm white. We did this everywhere and I loved it! However, in the kitchen, I wanted my cabinets to be white so we painted them Westhighland White by SW along with the mouldings and painted the walls Ash so in the kitchen, our walls look light gray against the white cabinets.
thank you!! my floors are a light cream stone through out downstairs and i have alot of cream or light brown tones in my furniture in living areas… thinking this ash color might work with everything… didnt see any pics of your living areas on the site!? would the ash not compliment the calcutta? i saw you have that too?!!
Yes, I used the ash on the walls with calcutta in my kitchen and love it. I think the color will look great with all the colors you mentioned!
Amanda Raab
Shut Up! Stunning….I am loving everything!
Can’t tell you how many times I’ve jumped over from Urban Grace to take a peek at your bedroom redo. Completely swoon worthy!! Just noticed for the very first time that it appears your interior doors off your hallway are painted. I’ve been wanting to do this for a while. May I ask what color you used? Many thanks in advance!
Hi, the doors in the hallway are stained clear Alder doors but we do have painted doors as well all over our home like in our bedroom and upstairs bedrooms. The color is RH Ash and believe it or not, the doors that are painted are clear Alder. My husband about died when I told him I was going to paint them but there were places in the home where I didn’t want stained wood.
BEAUTY-FULL!!!! Stumbled here via Urban Grace…and I’m stayin’!
Found your blog through Urban Grace! I am absolutely in love with your home! It’s really stunning and I love your style! Everything looks so light and airy…I love it.
I followed the link to your blog via Urban Grace. I’m loving your sunburst mirror! Do you mind sharing your source? I’m working for a client right now and I can’t find the perfect mirror.
For the sunburst, Allison at Urban Grace would be able to tell you. 🙂
Her email is Allison@urbangrace.com.
[…] I’d been eager to switch things up, but then when I saw Amanda’s master bedroom via Urban Grace, I knew what I wanted to […]
sorry if I missed this… where are the chairs from – I love them 🙂
Hi! I love your elegant style, like everyone else who wrote comments! Do u think I could go with silk dupioni drapes instead of linen? what color are your drapes to go with your quilt? My bedroom dresser is distressed black/rustic brown from tommy bahama kingstown stony point chest.
I also like your dining parson chairs, where r they from? and what color is your dining table, can u post a pic ? we r trying to redo our keeping/kitchen area-
thanks for your help!
Natalie
I saw a comment already regarding your quilt from pottery barn? is it white or ivory? where is your coverlet and shams from as well?
thanks again!
natalie
It’s in between white and ivory. That’s why I love it because I like to add different shades of white for depth.
Thanks! I think the color is sandalwood for the coverlet -pick a stitch- from pottery barn . Does that sound familiar? The only other colors it came in was ivory and white. I took a peek at your little one’s nursery and my little girl’s shower curtain is the same fabric as your nursery bedding. I love that pattern too:)
The color I purchased is actually white 🙂
Beautiful. I am really in love with your bedroom chandelier. Can you share some details about it?
Just found your blog through a la mode and have gotten lost in the beautiful pictures! I live in Houston too … Memorial. We bought a 50 year old Colonial in December and have taken it to the studs and are putting it back together again. I LOVE looking at yours and am envious of the high ceilings. It’s gorgeous!
I love that part of town and have friends that live in that area. I love Colonial homes, especially old ones! I would love to see the outcome.
I would love to know where you got your bedding!?!?! Love the white pillows.
Hi! Love you bedroom and bath. I’m about to do my master bath. What brand and color are your faucets?
Hi,
They are Legacy Brass Edwardian brass or something similar to that 🙂
Your room might be the most fantastic I’ve ever seen. I seriously can’t stop stalking these pictures!!! Can’t wait to see the rest of your house girl!
This is so stunning. What a treat, to live in a room like this! Found you through Shelli’s blog! Can’t wait to see more rooms from your gorgeous home (:
LOVE LOVE your bedroom. Such an inspiration for my next project. If you don’t mind me asking, did Urban Grace help you custom design your headboard or did you purchase it somewhere? If so, where? Thanks so much!! Ashley
Thank you. I purchased the headboard through Serena & Lily.
Hi Amanda, can remember the fabric you used and whether you used natural nickel or brass studs? Im going to order a couple of swatches…. Thanks!
The studs are brass and the fabric is linen…I don’t remember which color but something like sand.
[…] source […]
OK, this might be a totally silly question, but what size of bed do you have? I love the idea of turning the coverlet on its side to be able to tuck in. I always get so frustrated w/ our Cal King and not being able to tuck in sheets and coverlets. So annoying….
How did you accomplish getting long enough sheets and did you just turn the PB coverlet on its side? Thank you sooo much for answering my random question. Enjoy your weekend!
I am in awe of your bedroom!! I discovered it through urban grace (love them)… Just wanted to tell you what an amazing job you did. Also, I have been debating contacting them for some time now, but your room pushed me over the edge!!! Two questions: is your trim the same color as your walls? What color linen drapes did you use?? Thanks so much!!!
Thank you! The trim is the same color as the walls and I’m not sure what the color of the drapes are because I just cut off a swatch and put it in my file in case I ever need more. I got it from Glick Textiles in Houston. 🙂
You are so sweet and nice to share all your ideas. I think it is amazing. One more question what kind of bedding do you use and where did you buy it from ( sheets).
Thank you so much
I get my sheets from Bed, Bath, and Beyond. All white sheets, very nice quality, and I use the coupons 🙂
I will have to check out the sheets from Bed, Bath and Beyond. Haven’t been there in years.
Is there a certain brand you recommend and the count?
Thanks again
I don’t think it was a major brand name. I just know they are great. I wish I knew off the top of my head!
Absolutely stunning!
What color is your bathroom vanity/console cabinet? Also, what is the countertop? Love how soft it looks. Thanks!
Hi,
It is SW Amazing Gray. The countertop is limestone. I love the look of limestone because it doesn’t have any movement, has a very soft look, and has earthy tones. That particular limestone went perfectly.
Hi there. I love love your home. Thank you for all the tips and sources but mostly for the actual pictures.
You have inspired me so much with your designs that I have decided to create a white bedroom as well. My poor husband (lol).
Thank you so much for great design ideas.
not sure how i stumbled onto your blog…pinterest? maybe….anyways…you have a beautiful family and home! we have similar taste 🙂 i’m finding lots of great inspiration….
Do you have a t.v. in your master? There is no way I could live without one in my room, but I hate the look of it. I was wondering if you keep yours hidden if you have one?!
We have a no tv in bedroom rule. 🙂
Amanda Raab
The bathtub surround is so elegant and looks classical like you are in a fine hotel in Lake Como or somewhere! Did a carpenter do that or does the tub company make it to go with their tubs? I love how your home seems utterly timeless and will look as beautifully designed in 40 years as it does now. I am always wary of trends like the brown freckly granite and dark cabinets everyone had to have a few years ago in their kitchens. I am glad newer kitchens look cleaner and fresh with Calacatta Oro or similar stone and white or gray painted cabinets. Another question is about your windows and doors. Can you tell us the manufacturer? I can’t wait to
change out our 54 windows. They are all multiple-pane windows so we feel like we can’t see the view very well, because it feels like we’re in jail with so many mullions! Yours still have the mullions but they are bigger and fewer. The look is newer and yet still architecturally correct. You have a great architect-builder, or maybe it’s your input that “classes up the joint!”
Thanks for the inspiration and sources. My mom is going to call Allison at Urbangrace for her home in Sandestin, Florida.
Hi, Thank you so much! Your comments made my day 🙂 For our bathtub, I drew it and our trim carpenter built it for me. We had to make one of the round panels on the end removable for the air bath just in case something ever malfunctioned. For the windows and doors, my husband has a manufacturing rep company that sells windows and doors. The doors were custom made via drawings I did with clear Alder and the windows were done by my husband through BiltBest. BiltBest is no longer around but we are building again in Austin because we really wanted the lifestyle so we are doing the same doors but the windows are coming from Monarch through my husband’s company.
Hi. I happened upon your blog through pintrest. I was searching for built-ins and your beautiful bedroom wall of built-ins came up. As I read your post I had to laugh because I have been following Erica Powell’s blog for years. I am wondering if you will share where you got your 2 bedroom chairs from. I love them. Looks like you are moving to a new home. Enjoy and thanks again.
So pretty. I love your bolster.
I have stumbled upon your blog through Pinterest. Do you mind sharing where you got your bedroom chairs from? I’ve been searching for the perfect chairs for almost a year. 🙂
This is so amazing! I would love a room like this! I don’t think you could get me to leave. So I hope you don’t think I am crazy for asking but I am writing a post for Yahoo Real Estate and need a beautiful white bedroom picture…. Is there anyway I can have permission to use this image in the post? I can include a link to your blog or flickr account… let me know your thoughts! Thanks so much!
